Charlie Sheen has lost his fight to be awarded custody of his twin sons Max and Bob.
An LA judge ruled on Wednesday that the troubled actor's estranged wife Brooke Mueller would retain legal and physical custody of the two-year-old boys.
Charlie, 45, had been seeking temporary custody after reports that Brooke had returned to rehab following a relapse of her substance abuse.
Brooke, 33, seemed pleased with the ruling, smiling broadly as she left the courtroom.
The LA Superior Court judge said that the decision was "in the best interest of the children".
Brooke's mother Moira Fiore is currently looking after the toddlers.
Their father has visitation rights as long as he continues to turn up for court ordered drug tests.
