Key members of the Danish royal family gathered this week for a banquet hosted by Monarch Queen Margrethe and her husband Prince Henrik in honour of visiting Greek president Dr Karolos Papoulias.
Crown Prince Mary, glamorous as always in a white taffeta affair and sparkling jewels, and her husband Crown Prince Frederik were among the guests preparing to welcome the statesman as the monarch – in a pink satin gown and tiara – entered Fredensborg Palace's grand hall with the special guest at her side.
The 79-year-old Greek president, who is staying at the palace, is on a three-day visit to the Scandinavian country. Included in his agenda is lunch with the Danish president, a conference on Danish industry and a concert by Greek musicians. He flies out on Wednesday.
