France's first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has been keeping out of the limelight while awaiting the birth of her first child with husband Nicolas Sarkozy.
But the supermodel-turned-musician greeted well-wishers in person during a special day at the Elysee Palace.
Carla, 43, had dressed her bump in an elegant dress under a black coat for Patrimony Day when France's most treasured heritage buildings are open to the public.
Smiling though looking a little tired – as would be expected at this stage in her pregnancy – she joined the president in signing autographs.
Carla's new baby will be her second – she has a 10-year-old son Aurelien from a previous relationship.
Her husband has three sons, Pierre, Jean and Louis from two previous marriages.
