A mother of two, who left school with no qualifications, has spoken of her delight at winning The Apprentice – despite her disadvantaged background.
Stella English beat Chris Bates to be hired by Lord Alan Sugar (pictured) on a six-figure salary.
She credited her great aunt, also called Stella, for bringing her up when her own mum was unable to – thus saving her from going into care.
"Stella is my inspiration and has given me a great set of morals to live by.
"She believes that you can achieve anything and made me believe that".
Lord Sugar's new employee said that she wanted to be an example for her two boys aged two and four.
The 31-year-old also said she hoped her victory would help others "to realise that you are in charge of your own destiny".
