Susan Sarandon is in talks to join road trip comedy Tammy.
The Oscar-winning actress could be sharing screen time with funnywoman Melissa McCarthy in the film, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Melissa, who has written the screenplay with husband Ben Falcone, is already set to star as a woman who is fired from her job in a fast food restaurant, discovers her husband in the midst of an affair and decides to hit the road with her foul-mouthed grandmother (Susan's character).
Melissa has revealed she is still thinking about whether she would direct the film with Ben. It had previously been reported that Tammy would be her directorial debut.
"I'm very excited. I may be directing with my husband - we're still figuring what's the best way to go," she said, adding: "We've directed shorts together, and we've worked together forever."
