Jonathan Rhys Meyers is rumoured to be in talks to star in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
The Irish actor, 35, who played King Henry VIII in TV drama The Tudors, is rumoured to be in discussions to join the cast of JJ Abrams' sci-fi film, reported the LA Times' Latino Review.
Details about his role are being kept under wraps, but it would mark a reunion between the actor and director, following their previous collaboration on Mission: Impossible III in 2006.
Star Wars: Episode VII has a tentative release date of 2015.
JJ has said that the film is in very early stages, as he focuses on promoting his Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness.
"I definitely feel that the opportunities are enormous, and as a fan of Star Wars since I was about 11, I feel incredibly honoured to be a part of that franchise and that world," he has said.
"It's very early on so we're just getting started but it really is an exciting thing to get to be in that universe."
