Buddhist activist Richard Gere on South Korean trip

Richard Gere has visited a Buddhist temple in Seoul, South Korea where he received gifts of prayer beads, ceremonial clothing and porcelain incense burners.

The Pretty Woman star is in the city promoting an exhibition of photographs of Tibet and India taken by him, and other photographers.

Richard, a practicing Buddhist, said at Jogye Temple that he appreciates Korean Buddhism's traditions and wants them to stay strong.

The actor is a long-time activist for Tibet and is pictured left at the Dalai Lama's 2010 Radio City Music Hall lectures.
