US comedian and talk show host Rosie O'Donnell has revealed that she suffered a heart attack last week.
The 50-year-old posted a poem on her blog entitled "My heart attack" which detailed the ordeal.
The Nip/Tuck star said her chest had begun to ache last week and she felt nauseous after helping a woman who was struggling to get out of her car in her Nyack village home, near New York.
Having fallen ill the actress searched "women's heart attack symptoms" on the internet.
Following her research, Rosie took a few aspirin, but did not call emergency services.
The day after Rosie visited a cardiologist, who inserted a stent into an artery which was 99 per cent blocked.
Having said she was "lucky to be here," Rosie ended the poem with a warning message: "Know the symptoms ladies, listen to the voice inside, the one we all so easily ignore, call 911."
