Denmark's Queen Margrethe has no plans to abdicate, an official spokesperson has confirmed.
The Royal Court has strongly denied claims made in a new book, which also alleges Prince Henrik has plans to move permanently to Chateau Cayx near Cahors in his native France.
"There is no truth in this," says the head royal press officer.
The Danish monarch - pictured with son Crown Prince Frederik - has previously been quoted as saying: "Being queen is a profession… that one cannot put aside when you come home from work.
"It is there all the time. And it is there all your life. For me it is a responsibility which does not include abdication."
