At the end of the six-hour Children in Need marathon the grand total of £26.332.334 topped last year’s result by £8 million.
Performances by celebrities like One Direction, Westlife, Susan Boyle or the cast of EastEnders helped to achieve this year's fantastic amount.
"Thank you to the British people in these tough times to come up with that kind of money on behalf of Britain's children", host Sir Terry Wogan said at the end of the telethon.
The gala was preceded by a One Show special which featured co-host Matt Baker’s rickshaw challenge.
The TV presenter rode from Edinburgh to London collecting money along the way.
Starting on November 11, he raised a total of £1,2 million cycling up to 10 hours a day.
"To actually see people running after you with money and wanting you to have it, it's just unbelievable," he told One Show presenter Alex Jones.
One of the highlights of the show was the performance of supergroup The Collective which featured stars like Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Ed Sheeran, Mz Bratt and Tinchy Stryder.
