Shakira has stopped by at a joint Israeli-Arab school in Jerusalem to promote her global education campaign.
The She Wolf singer - who is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador - made a plea for children's education worldwide.
She said the Holy Land was the "perfect place to talk about how urgent it is to invest in education".
"We have so many challenges ahead of us, so many problems to solve.
"This is the time to behave like a team ... and to win the match of discrimination, to win the match of inequality and segregation."
The 34-year-old Colombian, who is of Lebanese heritage, has established a number of charitable foundations dedicated to advancing education.
She was joined on the trip by her boyfriend, Spanish football star Gerard Pique.
Shakira also paid a visit to Jerusalem's Western Wall, the holiest site in Judaism.
