Although she sang about being "Jenny from the block," people have always been keen to pin a diva label on Jennifer Lopez.
However, after being confirmed as a new judge on American Idol, the superstar has laughed off reports that she made outrageous demands during negotiations.
And the show's executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, also poked fun at her reputation.
"I said to Jennifer, we heard that she only likes yellow M&Ms. I'm thinking, 'Who's going to pick them all out for her?
"She said "'No, where did that come from?'"
Ignoring the rumours the 41-year-old singer is concentrating on spotting "the next Michael Jackson".
She is reportedly being paid $12 million for appearing on the show.
Joining her on the panel is Aerosmith singer, Steve Tyler, who promised to "bring some rock to this rollercoaster".
