Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen are in final talks to play best friends in new movie Very Good Girls.
The Twilight actress, 17, and the Martha Marcy May Marlene star, 22, are to play childhood friends who make a pact to lose their virginity during the summer after they graduate from high school.
Their relationship sours when they both fall in love with the same boy, who looks set to be played by Like Crazy actor Anton Yelchin.
Screenwriter Naomi Foner - the mother of Hollywood stars Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal - will be at the helm of the movie, marking her directorial debut.
She said: "The film deals with female sexuality and friendship in a way we haven't seen before."
Dakota has several films due out over the next 12 months, including the final instalment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn: Part 2.
Elizabeth, who is the younger sister of twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, also has several weighty projects in the pipeline.
She will be seen in upcoming thriller Red Lights and it has been reported that she will be starring in period drama Therese Raquin.
