Ghostbusters actor Harold Ramis has tragically passed away at 69-years-old.
The Chicago-born actor and writer suffered from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis a rare disease causing the swelling of blood vessels. At the time of his passing he was reportedly surrounded by his family.
Famous for films including Caddyshack and Groundhog Day, Harold’s health issues started back in 2010, and he spent four months in rehabilitation after he was unable to walk.
“His work is the reason why so many of us got into comedy,” says Bridesmaids director Judd Apatow. “We grew up on Secondy City TV and Ghostbusters, Vacation, Animal House, Stripes, Meatballs: he literally made every single one of our favourite movies.”
