Portia de Rossi will star in the fourth season of political thriller Scandal, it has been revealed.
The Australian-American actress' wife, TV host phenomenon Ellen DeGeneres, confirmed the exciting news via her Twitter account on Wednesday. "So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on 'Scandal'. Oops."
The official Twitter account for Scandal then swiftly confirmed this news: "We are so excited to have Portia de Rossi joining us this coming season!"
It is not known which role the 41-year-old will take on nor how many episodes of the show she will appear in.
Nevertheless she and 56-year-old Ellen must be delighted with the news, being avid fans of the Washington D.C.-based drama starring actress Kerry Washington.
"Portia and I watch every single week, and we're always trying to figure out who the bad guy is," admitted comedian Ellen on an April episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Portia, a Melbourne University law graduate-turned-thespian, is most recognised for her roles in TV series Ally McBeal and Arrested Development, as well as the ABC show Better Off Ted.
