Midway through their "staycation", David Cameron and his wife Samantha have some good news to share – their new baby has been welcomed into the world.
Downing Street said both mother and the 6lb 1oz little girl, were "doing very well".
The new arrival, who has not yet been named, is three weeks early – she had been expected in September.
A spokesman said: "The Prime Minister and Mrs Cameron are delighted to announce the birth of their fourth child, a baby girl.
"The PM and Mrs Cameron would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the hospital for their help and kindness."
The baby was delivered at the Royal Truro Hospital in Cornwall.
