It won’t just be just a wedding day for Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her fiancé Daniel Westling when they get married next June, but an entire wedding fortnight.
For two weeks leading up to the royal nuptials on June 19, Stockholm will be transformed into a ‘capital of love’ with flowers and performances throughout the city, according to plans released on Tuesday.
Exact details of 'Love Stockholm 2010' have yet to be revealed, but it’s expected to involve two million people and cost 680,000 euros.
“We want to pay tribute to our crown princess, who does so much for our country,” said Stockholm’s mayor Sten Nordin.
The city will be coordinating its celebrations with those in Daniel’s home town of Ockelbo.
