One of Ireland's most famous sons, Ronan Keating, is upping sticks and moving to Hollywood.
And the singer – currently touring solo in Australia – has plans to broaden his horizons when he gets there, after revealing he has been secretly screen-testing for film roles.
"We are going there in July," the Boyzone star recently revealed. "We'll get the kids enrolled in school there.
"It may be for six months or we even could give it a year. We'll see what happens."
As for his designs on a new silver screen career, the 32-year-old said: "I've done a couple of castings…I've done an audition for The Hobbit.
"That starts shooting in New Zealand in July so we'd be based there for quite a while instead of LA if it happens."
Should Ronan land a part in the anticipated 2011 adaptation of J R R Tolkien's novel, he could find himself sharing screen time with fellow Dubliners, John and Edward.
The two twin X Factor contestants were reportedly asked to audition for roles in the Guillermo del Toro-directed film after being spotted by its producer and co-writer Peter Jackson.
