Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan is at the Betty Ford Center on a three-month court-ordered rehab programme following a hearing on Friday.
The troubled 24-year-old had requested that she move into outpatient care so she could continue working.
A probation report said: "She indicates she can not afford to continue to pay for the treatment program and she needs to work.
"[Lindsay says] her clothing line is falling apart because she is not available to monitor the product.
"Instead Judge Elden Fox told her: "You're staying (in rehab) past the New Year - there's a reason for that".
The star - who failed a drug test last month - is due back in court on February 25.
