Actor Paul Bettany has revealed he was offered the role of King George VI in The King’s Speech but turned it down due to family commitments.
Speaking to the BBC at the Sundance Film Festival on Tuesday, the 39-year-old expressed his regret in declining the role.
He said: "I had been working for five months steadily and my son missed me. I missed my son – both my sons – and my wife."
He added: "But do I regret it? I regret not working with such amazing, amazing actors, directors and writers, though I have to do the right thing by my family everytime."
