There were tears galore during X Factor boot camp - which was shown on UK screens at the weekend.
But there was one person who was particularly happy after the emotional episodes, during which the final 32 contestants were decided.
Judge Cheryl Cole was delighted after learning she would be mentoring the girls category – and said she was aiming to win for the third time since joining the show.
After being told the news in LA, Cheryl said: "Oh my God! I am so happy. Yes yes yes! I'm feeling slightly on the smug side. I'm going for a hat trick."
Those in Cheryl's category include her 'mini me' Cher Lloyd, and single mum Rebecca Ferguson (both pictured).
Meanwhile Dannii Minogue will be mentoring the boys, Louis Walsh will be looking after the over 28s and Simon Cowell is in charge of the groups.
The final 32 acts will now going through to the judges' houses section next weekend, when they will be whittled down to just 12 acts. These performers will then progress to the live stages.
