"Really, really truly wow," said a shocked Melissa Leo as she was named best supporting actress at the Academy Awards.
"I'm just shaking in my boots."
As she arrived on stage, the Fighter star admitted she was speechless – she later accidently swore.
And she asked Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, who presented the award, to pinch her to make sure the moment was real.
Melissa beat competition from Helena Bonham Carter, Hailee Steinfeld and Amy Adams to take the trophy.
It was also a magical night for her Fighter co-star Christian Bale.
He was named best supporting actor for his work in the American boxing film.
Wales-born Christian was moved to tears as he received his first Oscar, thanking his family for their support.
He also joked that unlike Melissa – who plays his on-screen mother – he would not "drop the F-bomb".
"What a room full of talented, inspirational people – what the hell am I doing here?" he said as he accepted his award, before paying tribute to his wife Sibi, "my mast through the storms of life."
