Neighbours actor starstruck as Lily Allen heads for Ramsay St

Thursday May 28, 2009

Smile songstress Lily Allen is due to say "G'Day" to residents of Australia's most famous soap in June.

The singer has accepted a guest role on Neighbours, playing herself, in an episode to be filmed during the Melbourne leg of her tour Down Under. Fans can see her scenes in the UK in September.

Lily will appear opposite teenage actor Matt Werkmeister, who plays 'Zeke' Kinski and is a big fan of the pop favourite.

"I'm freaking out," he confessed. "I'll be starstruck for sure, but will try my hardest to stay professional."

Lily, who's understood to be a huge fan of the programme, is following in the footsteps of Little Britain's David Walliams and Matt Lucas, who both made an appearance on the long-running soap in 2007
