An actress who starred in US TV drama The L Word has said she was escorted off a flight for kissing her girlfriend.
Leisha Hailey called for a boycott of Southwest Airlines on Twitter after being told by an attendant that passengers had complained.
"I have been discriminated against," she wrote on Monday.
"Since when is showing affection to someone you love illegal?"
In a statement released on Tuesday, Leisha and her partner Camilla Grey added:
"We wish to make it clear we were not making out or creating any kind of spectacle of ourselves.
"It was one modest kiss."
The airline's defence has been that the couple's 'excessive' actions led to complaints from other customers.
It released a statement on its website saying: "Initial reports indicate we received several passenger complaints characterising the behaviour as excessive."
"Our crew is responsible for the comfort of all customers on board and approached the passengers based solely on behaviour and not gender.
"The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight."
The incident comes after GreenDay rocker Billie Joe Armstrong was asked to leave a Southwest flight because he was wearing his baggy trousers too low.
Southwest also removed actor director Kevin Smith from a flight last year because he didn't fit properly into his single seat.
