Katy Perry and Russell Brand have booked Morrissey as their wedding singer, despite his suggestion to the loved-up couple that they should not walk down the aisle.
The Smiths' former frontman has been invited to sing at their wedding in India in October.
"I met Morrissey for the first time the other day and we had tea together. He's Russell's mate and he is fascinating but he was giving us a hard time about getting married," The Sun quoted California Girls singer Katy as saying.
She added: "He swooned and sighed, 'Oh, left hand third finger, don't do it.' It was just so eloquent and poetic and like one of his songs."
However eloquently Morrissey may have phrased his doubts, it is clear that Katy wants him to change his tune: "It would be great to have him at the wedding but I told him, 'We can't have a Mr Misery like you messing things up'."
Russell proposed to Katy just four months after they started dating.
As well as exotic wedding plans keeping them occupied, Katy and Russell have both been busy filming - Katy is working on the video for her new single Teenage Dream and Russell is focusing on new film project Arthur.
