Rebecca Adlington is looking to build on her 2012 Olympic success in the women's 800m freestyle event on Friday.
The 23-year-old won bronze in the women's 400m freestyle on Sunday, despite being uncertain that the event would go her way.
The swimmer tweeted: "Just sneaked into tonight's final in 8th place! Not expecting anything tonight, all I can do is my best."
Afterwards, she said: "I am so proud. I have got a medal at the home Games, and not many people can say that."
Despite recording a quicker time than when she won gold in 2008, Rebecca was unable to hold on to her Olympic title.
However, the best is yet to come as the 800m is Rebecca's main event for which she also won gold at the Beijing Olympics.
