Their blossoming romance was one of the big talking points of The Apprentice last year.
But it seems things were not meant to be for Kate Walsh and Phillip Taylor, who have decided to call time on their relationship.
The couple, who first met on the BBC show in 2009, are believed to have separated because of Kate's career ambitions.
While Phil, 30, is ready to settle down and start a family, the blonde 28-year-old – who now hosts Live from Studio Five with Ian Wright - wants to concentrate on her work.
One source said: "Phil feels like Kate has changed – she's not the same girl he fell in love with."
"He wants marriage and children but she's made it quite clear that kids are not part of the set-up at the moment. Since she got her TV job, her career has put a strain on the relationship with Phil."
"Phil feels that Kate is too career-minded and that, because of that, they don’t have as much fun as they used to. Phil wants to go to the pub and have a laugh - he's a sociable bloke.
"But he says Kate has turned into a bit of a name-dropper because of her TV career, and only wants to go to places if there's someone famous there.
"Her devotion to her career has caused quite a few rows between them."
Another friend of the couple added: "Kate's bitter because she feels that Phil has been holding her back."
