It's the biggest indication yet that Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are ready to start a family.
When he was asked about his plans for the next two years, the second-in-line brought up the subject.
"More importantly, I’d rather like to have children. So that's the key thing really," he told American interviewer Katie Couric.
"But I'm just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I, you know, are looking forward to having a family in the future."
When asked whether there was anything he would like to announce William answered: "You won't get anything out of me. Tight lipped."
The Prince also said during the interview – which will be screened on Wednesday night in the US – how sad he felt his mother Princess Diana had not been there to see his wedding day.
