It's a spot usually reserved for The X Factor crew, but – strange as it sounds – the Pope could top the charts this Christmas.
Pope Benedict XVI has agreed a deal with a record company to release an album of him singing in the Vatican.
The pontiff's disc, titled Alma Mater, will be an album of litanies and chants in honour of the Virgin Mary as well as prayers and scripture readings with musical accompaniment.
It will be released on November 30 by Universal's Geffen label, the same record label that was home to Nirvana and Guns N' Roses.
A spokesman for the label said listeners would be "shocked" by the Pope's "incredible voice". He will use five different languages on the album.
Proceeds will help provide musical education for underprivileged children around the world.
