Shania Twain is back! The Canadian superstar made a triumphant return to the stage on Saturday (Apr. 29) night as the headlining act at this year’s Stagecoach Festival in California. Not only did the singer bring out some surprise guests, but she also performed her highly anticipated new song
“Life’s About to Get Good” for more than 75,000 country music fans. It was Shania’s first full concert since wrapping her farewell tour in 2015.
Before the Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee sang the song live for the first time, she explained the inspiration behind the touching lyrics.
“This is like a solo record experience for me. It was therapy, I wrote this specific song about the good and bad in life. It’s really just a happy, sing-along optimistic song. It’s all about how ‘Life’s About to Get Good,’” she told the audience.
The 51-year-old looked like she was having the time of her life as she swayed her hips to the music while belting out the song’sempowering lyrics about how wonderful life is. "Life's about joy / life's about pain / it's all about giving up the will to walk away / I'm ready to be loved / loved the way I should / Life's about to get good,” sang Shania.
A new track wasn’t the only treat the singer had in store for fans. She sent the crowd into a frenzy when she invited Nick Jonas and Kelsea Ballerini on stage to help her perform some of her biggest hits.
Nick joined Shania in singing her 2004 smash “Party For Two” while Kelsea harmonized on “Any Man of Mine.” It wasn’t the first time that the young country crooner got to perform that song in Shania’s presence. Back in November, Kelsea helped honour the Timmins native during CMT Artists of the Year special.
The 23-year-old later reflected on how much the moment meant to her, telling CMT, “I went up to her afterward and said, ‘Shania, my name is Kelsea, and I got to honour you tonight with ‘Any Man of Mine.’ I just want to say thank you for being such a strong female for me to look up to.”
Sharing the stage with Shania was also a dream come true for Nick Jonas, who has admitted to having a “lifetime crush” on the country superstar. The mother of one was just as thrilled to sing with the former Jonas Brother, and even took to her Instagram account to share a short video of the two of them singing their hearts out at the festival. “'Party For Two' with the amazing @nickjonas. So much fun @thecountrynote,” she wrote in the caption.
