Hell's Kitchen's first casualty Jody Latham to open his own gastropub

He might have been the first celeb to be booted out of Hell's Kitchen but that hasn't dampened Jody Latham's culinary dream of opening his own gastropub.

Concluding a dramatic evening in the kitchen, head chef Marco Pierre White decided it was time for the 27-year-old Shameless star to leave the reality show, after he became increasingly isolated from the other contestants. Despite the fiery cook's ruling, Jody insisted he had had a "great time" and had "learned plenty to help me with the launch of my gastropub in Lancashire next month".

And his decision to appear on the reality show alongside a world-class chef has earned the actor some valuable ties in the world of cuisine. "Marco has said I can come back and spend time in his kitchens and call him any time for advice. So I am walking into this venture with some expert help," the Burnley-born star revealed.

When it came to the Hell's Kitchen star's decision over who would be leaving, Jody confessed: "I can't give you a reasonable explanation to make me stay actually. I got what I wanted from the show. I can walk away this evening and still be a winner."

But it was with obvious regret Marco sent the cooking hopeful home, as he'd admitted Jody reminded him of himself when he was that age. "I have a job to do and that job is to feed 70 people every night to the best of my ability with the team I have been given," he said of his decision.

Those who are still competing to win this year's show are husband and wife Anthea Turner and Grant Bovey, bookies favourite Adrian Edmondson, former footballer Bruce Grobbelaar, Dynasty's Linda Evans, Gary Lineker's fiancée Danielle Bux, and Miss Dynamite Niomi McLean-Daley.
