Summer hasn't officially begun in the world of UK celebrities until Sir David Frost has hosted his annual soiree. That moment arrived this week, when the veteran broadcaster was joined by famous faces from TV, music and film at his spacious West London home for an evening of canapés and champagne.
Contrary to reports their relationship has become strained in recent months, father and daughter Sir Bob Geldof and Peaches looked to be enjoying each other's company at the bash.
The 20-year-old socialite – who debuted a short wavy 'do – is said to have upset her dad by signing up to front an underwear campaign. She later moved out of the Geldof family home and into the Mayfair hotel, as part of a lucrative deal making her the establishment's brand ambassador.
Whatever their situation, there was no sign of any discomfort between the smiling pair as they arrived at the Chelsea party.
Sir David's bash always provides a talking point for celeb watchers. In the past for example it was the scene of the first public outing for glamorous divorcee Jemima Khan and her former boyfriend Hugh Grant. While for another couple - Chris Tarrant and his ex-wife Ingrid – it served as their last appearance together as before their split in 2006.
Glam in a black frock and classic black Louboutins, the Duchess of York made a beeline for host Sir David on arrival, greeting him with a kiss on the cheek. Going for a brighter look was Joanna Lumley, who wore a multicoloured, long-sleeved robe over black trousers.
TV's Anne Robinson was joined by her pretty 38-year-old daughter Emma Wilson and also in attendance was acting legend Sir Michael Caine and his wife Shakira along with several politicians, including Conservative leader David Cameron and London mayor Boris Jonson.
Illusionist Uri Geller – who last week spoke of his devastation after the death of his friend Michael Jackson – also dropped in on the party.
