Katie's cagefighter love in family role while Peter Andre focuses on work

by hellomagazine.com Speaking for the first time about their blossoming romance this week, Katie Price's new boyfriend, cagefighter Alex Reid said he has no qualms about raising the children she has with estranged husband Peter Andre.

And the affection he feels towards Katie's younger son Junior was clear this week during a trip out with his girlfriend and her children in Brighton.

The 34-year-old hoisted the youngster up onto his shoulders, much to the little boy's delight. And it was a similar story earlier in the month when he was snapped playing with the brunette model's children during a day out to the local park.

Former Hollyoaks actor Alex told a magazine this week: "I love kids. And I'm really happy with Katie's family situation."

Katie seems equally as enamoured with her new love, and has spoken out about comments in the press that she's rushed into a relationship so soon after splitting from Peter.

"When you go through a divorce, your life moves on. What am I going to do, sit at home when the kids go to bed?" said Katie – aka Jordan. "Am I going to… sit around and wait 'til (Peter) says 'you can have a boyfriend now.'?"

And with the 31-year-old reality TV star pushing ahead with her personal life, her husband Peter Andre has been concentrating on his career.

The Aussie pop star – whose new track Behind Closed Doors is currently in the top ten – was getting stuck into his new role, as a celebrity reporter for This Morning.

Thirty-six-year-old Pete was backstage at the MOBO awards nominations party on Wednesday evening, interviewing British music stars including Britain's Got Talent runners up JLS.

TV bosses are also said to be lining up another mainstream vehicle for the star. "ITV have him in mind for a primetime anchoring role. He's absolutely thrilled," says a network source.
