Climbing the Hollywood ladder can be tough. But one thing that can get you through is the love and support of your partner.
So when Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges collected their trophies on Sunday evening, their thoughts no doubt turned to their loved ones in their moment of glory.
Watching proudly as his wife collected her award was US TV personality Jesse James, who was thrilled to be able to support her on the momentous occasion.
"It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support my wife and her work. She does it all the time for me," explained the 40-year-old sometime stuntman. "She goes to Mexico, to the desert, to the hospital - a lot - to support me and my work. The least I can do is put on a suit and support her."
He also detailed his immense pride to US publication People.
"I'm so proud of her. Nobody deserves this more and works harder. She's old-school Hollywood -- just gracious and a star who's so much better than you expect them to be," he said.
Speaking after his win for Crazy Heart, Jeff Bridges also paid tribute to his wife Susan, to whom he credits his success. "My wife supports me and it makes me love her more," he told the Sun newspaper.
Jeff, who has been with Susan since 1977, says staying true to her is what has made their relationship last.
"She really deserves it for the support and freedom she's given me," says the 60-year-old star.
