Celeb mums prove every day is Mother's Day in Hollywood

Although mums across Britain spent Sunday being spoilt rotten by their children, those in the US will have to wait until May for Mother's Day to be celebrated there.

Over the weekend, though, celebs across the Pond proved their kids don't need an excuse to spend quality time with them as Hollywood stars including Kate Beckinsale and Jennifer Garner stepped out with their little ones.

Actress Kate was snapped picking up 11-year-old daughter Lily from her school in Santa Monica, and the youngster – whose dad is Alice In Wonderland actor Michael Sheen – appeared delighted to be reunited with her famous mum after a hard day of studying.

Of course, the Pearl Harbour star originally hails from London, so perhaps the duo were set to spend the weekend marking Mother's Day by the British calendar.

And it seems Lily could be set to follow in her mum's footsteps and become an actress herself, after starring as a younger version of Kate's character in Robert De Niro flick Everybody's Fine.

"I was paralysed with terror for her really - but she was perfectly fine," said the proud mum. Although Lily may have to brush up on who's who in Hollywood. "At the end of it she said, 'That was great, I just wish it was with somebody famous like George Clooney'."

Movie hunk Ben Affleck's wife Jennifer and her five-year-old daughter Violet were also spending some one-on-one mum and daughter time together in the Santa Monica sunshine, while funnyman Adam Sandler, his wife Jackie Titone and their three-year-old daughter Sadie were spotted strolling around the same neighbourhood.

Over on the East Coast, meanwhile, Gabourey Sidibe and her father Ibnou were out and about in Soho, New York.

No doubt the pair had a lot to catch up on, after the Precious star narrowly missed taking home the Academy Award for best actress at last week's Oscars.
