Glee's Lea Michele swaps blouses for sexy LBD as creator discusses Britney tribute

She is known for playing straight-laced Rachel Berry in hit TV show Glee.

And it seems that actress Lea Michele is determined to cultivate a very different persona off screen.

At an event in Hollywood this week, the 23-year-old embraced her sultry side and stole the show in a sexy LBD teamed with smoky eyes.

It was a far cry from the buttoned up blouses and knee-high socks worn by Rachel, further highlighting the differences between Lea and her prim Glee character.

The Broadway star recently admitted that she has nine tattoos, including the word 'Imagine' on her left foot and 'I Believe' inked on her right wrist – something Rachel would be unlikely to approve of.

Stepping out on Monday looking super glam, Lea was joined at an event held in honour of Glee by her co-stars, including Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch.

Following the success of the show's recent 'Power of Madonna' episode, which saw Jane's acerbic-tongued gym teacher character, Sue Sylvester, swap her tracksuits for a conical bra to perform Vogue, the cast might soon be taking on another pop icon.

After Britney Spears' manager Adam Leber began a Twitter campaign to get her on the show, Glee creator Ryan Murphy has said he would certainly consider doing a show based around the blonde star.

"I'm interested in the Britney Spears idea," he told a US magazine. "I've always loved her. I'm entertaining it. I think young kids would like that."

He also revealed that he is contemplating similar tributes to Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin and Courtney Love.

Meanwhile, the gang will be delighted by the news that Madonna thought their dedication was "brilliant".

"The dialogue and the entire script was genius," the 51-year-old told US Weekly. "I completely appreciated the layers of irony, especially when all those macho boys sang What It Feels Like For A Girl."

And she wasn’t the only one in the household to enjoy the episode. "Lola loved the show too," she revealed. "I wish I went to a high school like that…If only!"
