It was a challenge worthy of her stylish status.
For the first time since getting her pixie crop, Emma Watson hit the red carpet this week. And all eyes were on the young actress to see if she could put a glamorous spin on her new look.
She did so with aplomb. Emma absolutely stole the show in a midnight blue, one-sleeved velvet dress by French fashion house Vionnet.

Her deep rouge lips and bold accessories completed the 20-year-old's immaculate appearance – which was in deep contrast to her two Harry Potter co-stars, who had taken a considerably more casual approach to their wardrobe.
Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, 21, and Rupert Grint, 22, were in London's Claridge's Hotel for a special reception, held to mark Warner Bros' purchase of Leavesden Studios, the British home of Harry Potter.
The location has been used in all eight films, and the US studio has said it is now planning a £1-million expansion. It is the first time a Hollywood studio has purchased its own permanent production facility in the UK.
Wednesday's event was something of a dress rehearsal for Emma. On Friday, she will step firmly back into the spotlight with her co-stars for the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, which is taking place in London's Leicester Square.
Fans are already camping out in the West End locale in anticipation of the screening.
Watch the premiere live from 5pm BST below.
