Watching her dance will provide inspiration for those viewers who may have over overindulged over the festive season.
Just as inspiring is the performance by Business Secretary Vince Cable, who found his passion for ballroom dancing through his late wife Olympia, who passed away in 2001.
He credited ballroom dancing with helping him get through the pain of losing her saying, “I hope that by taking part in the show I can inspire others to get up and do something they have always wanted to have a go at.”
Also appearing is comedienne Ronni Ancona who - in her self-deprecating manner – joked that she definitely has something to prove, saying “It's a wonderful opportunity to finally have confirmed that I don't actually have two left feet... just two right ones.”
Not everybody is focused only on the dancing however, with 43-year-old Torchwood star John Barrowman admitting how thrilled he is with the costumes. “I can guarantee this: there will be sequins”, he quipped.
And at 83 years old, EastEnders star June Brown will have the honour of being the oldest contestant to dance on the hit show. In her señorita pose (below), she looks poised to show them all how it’s done.
