Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly reveals all about becoming a mother for the first time in an exclusive interview and photoshoot with HELLO! magazine.
The former party girl gave birth to daughter Delilah Genoveva Stewart Del Toro on August 22 following a brief relationship with Hollywood actor Benicio Del Toro.
And she reveals how, despite no longer being involved with him, the Oscar-winner was present at the birth – and is a very attentive father.
"The whole family, including Benicio, was at the hospital and my mom and Benicio were in the delivery room with me," she tells the magazine.
"Benicio’s very involved; he and Delilah have a very special bond."
And she says that the baby closely resembles her Puerto Rican-born father Benicio.
"Delilah is starting to smile; she’s the perfect little angel. She definitely looks like her dad, but she has my legs and eye colour," she reveals before explaining the inspiration behind her daughter’s name.
"I named her after the Tom Jones song, as I’d always loved that."
Kimberly also says that father Rod, mother Alana Hamilton-Stewart, step-mother Penny Lancaster, and Rod’s former wife Rachel Hunter have given her a wealth of advice on how to care for a baby.
"There are lots of kids in my family – no-one’s short of advice," she says, adding that Delilah is already close to her half-brother Aiden, Rod and Penny’s eight-month-old son.
"Since they are only six months apart, I am counting on them being best friends," she continues.
"Dad handles children great – he’s had a lot of experience."
