Sometimes being a superfan might seem like a pain in the neck. But for the Twilight followers, nothing is too much trouble – there's a lot at stake, after all. Groups worked diligently creating posters and banners, and when the night arrived, girls turned out in wedding dresses, paying homage to the scene in which Kristen's character Bella walks down the aisle. There were scenes of excitement – and screams from the largely female crowd – on Monday evening as the stars arrived. Kirsten, Rob – and Taylor Lautner, his love rival in the film – spent a considerable amount of time signing autographs and posing for pictures. They were there for so long that Kristen changed out of her towering peep toe heels into trainers to be more comfortable. The glam brunette vamped it up for the unveiling in a purple sequinned gown split to the thigh. There were marriage proposals for 19-year-old Taylor – one fan had made a sign saying: "Wife me, Taylor."

"I signed it for her. I guess that was my answer," he said when asked about his response. You'd think that after three years of Twilight premieres, the actors would be used to the attention. But Rob says he still finds it all somewhat overwhelming. "It's like an alternate reality. My everyday life is so boring, and then you go to these things and everyone thinks something cool is happening," says the 25-year-old.
