She has pretty much kept mum since becoming one herself, but Lily Allen has now spoken publicly for the first time since giving birth to a baby girl.
In a message to Twitter followers, the Smile singer, wrote: "Thank you for all the flowers and lovely messages everybody. Very touching indeed. Nuff luv x x."
The 26-year-old fulfilled her long-held dream of starting a family last week – although no official announcement was forthcoming.
Lily's Twitter sabbatical is, no doubt, due to the fact that she and husband Sam Cooper are busy devoting all their time to their new arrival.
However, her sister, Sarah Owen, wrote on the site: "I LOVE my little niece! She's the sweetest little thing ever!!"
And other celebrities like Myleene Klass and pregnant Amanda Holden also sent their congratulations via the site.
They know how much this means to their friend. Lily suffered heartbreak last year when she lost a baby six months into a pregnancy and had a miscarriage in 2008 when she was dating Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons.
