"Peaches is utterly thrilled and they have the full support of both of their families who are equally excited for the baby's arrival."
The 22-year-old has grown up in the glare of the limelight because her mother, the former presenter of Channel 4's Big Breakfast and The Tube, died from a drug overdose in 2000, aged 40.
In recent years, she has been carving out a niche presenting a number of youth TV programmes including Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind and A Beginner's Guide To Islam.
She hit the headlines in 2009 by divorcing rock musician Max Drummey after a six-month marriage.
The pair had married in secret in a drive-in ceremony in Las Vegas after a 10-day romance.
This will be the first grandchild for Boomtown Rats singer Bob. Peaches is one of four girls along with Fifi, Pixie and Tiger – Paula's daughter with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence whom the Irishman adopted following her death.
