Jerry Hall to put on her dancing shoes for 'Strictly'

Former supermodel Jerry Hall has apparently signed up to hit the ballroom in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.Mick Jagger's ex, who has previously graced the cover of Vogue, will swap the catwalk for the dancefloor when the BBC show returns next month.

Following in the footsteps of fellow models Penny Lancaster and Jodie Kidd, who have also appeared on the show, Jerry is rumoured to be joined by BBC newsreader Sian Williams, 47, and TV presenter Fern Britton, 55, who previously starred in a Christmas edition.A source from the BBC revealed that Jerry was a high priority: "We were very keen to get Jerry on Strictly. She’s a beautiful, dynamic woman and mother. She mulled it over for a while and now she’s doing it, so we’re all excited. "The 56-year-old has four children with Rolling Stone, Sir Mick Jagger.Daughters Elizabeth, 28, and Georgia May, 20, both model and act, whilst her eldest son James, 27, is a musician. Jerry has said that her youngest, Gabriel, 14, dreams of becoming a history teacher.The Texan-born star is now with Australian millionaire Warwick Hemsley, with whom she has enjoyed a long-term relationship for  nearly two years. Jerry recently called him "the nicest man in the world. "This years' Strictly is also believed to feature Britain's Olympic gold medalists. Victoria Pendleton and Sir Steve Redgrave are reported to have signed up for the show.

Victoria, who won a gold and silver medal at the Games last month, said this week: "The idea of being very glamorous, it definitely appeals to me. After wearing Lycra suits and tracksuits for so long and not a lot of make-up I think, yeah, that would be good fun. "The Strictly Come Dancing launch show will air on September 15 and the first live show is on October 5.
