Music mogul Simon Cowell has confirmed he is dating model Carmen Electra. Simon took a break from his often cutting critical comments to praise his new love interest, saying "she's adorable, isn't she?"
But the 53-year-old, who was speaking to American TV host Ryan Seacrest, was quick to confirm that the couple are taking things slowly "she’s not my girlfriend," he said, adding "we're people who date." And the two have certainly been living up to that status and are often spotted at LA's top venues.
Simon and 40-year-old Carmen were first seen together enjoying dinner at stylish Hollywood restaurant Cecconi's in September. An onlooker at the eatery said the pair had been "getting very cosy. Holding hands and staring into each other’s eyes."
After appearing as a guest judge on Britain's Got Talent Carmen was quizzed about how she had found working with the straight-talking Brit. "He's so cute." She responded "He is adorable. He's actually a sweetheart… I really liked him. I think he's really cool."
The Starsky and Hutch actress hinted the two had become close when she added "Now he's in Los Angeles with X Factor we started to hang out and became friends… I think he's a great guy."
Millionaire Simon's union with Carmen is his first relationship since he broke off his engagement to makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy last year. After a tubulent few months the couple called time on their two year engagement earlier this year.
The split followed a tense holiday at Simon's home in Barbados. The X Factor judge's close friend and ex-girlfriend, Sinitta, indicated that the couple's relationship was under strain with a series of Tweets and a source revealed Mezhgan had tried to spend a romantic New Year's Eve with Simon but he had preferred a group party.
Ohio-born Carmen has been married twice, once to basketball star Dennis Rodman and Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro.
