Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her name as a Bollywood siren, and the star recently allowed audiences a preview of her latest role – as mother to her 15-month-old tot Aaradhya.
Normally fiercely private, Aishwarya was joined by her husband Abhishek Bachchan and their daughter onstage as she accepted an accolade at India's Filmfare Awards in January.

Cradling her daughter in her arms, the green-eyed beauty looked emotional and maternal as she praised her family unit, and paid tribute to her actor husband's talent. It was the first time Aishwarya had been seen publically with her daughter since the child was born in November 2011.
Her in-laws, The Bachchans, are known as the "first family" of Bollywood and have millions of fans following their every move. Add to that Aishwarya's own magnetic star power, and the interest surrounding her private life is understandable.
When the newest member of the clan was born, proud dad Abhishek reached out to well-wishers on Twitter, saying: "So overwhelmed with all that has taken place today. Thank you, thank you for all for your kindness, love and prayers. It means the world to us."
Months later, the new arrival's name was revealed. Aaradhya is a Sanskrit word which means, "First One", "pleasable" or "one who is worth worshipping" and although the name is often seen as male orientated, it has been known to be used for both sexes in recent times.
Her parents are often described as the Brad and Angelina of the Indian film scene, and true to form, Aishwarya, 39, and Abhishek, 36, married in a spectacular three-day ceremony four years ago, forging the ultimate film dynasty.
Aishwarya first charmed her nation aged just 21, winning Miss World in 1994, and going on to star in several Hollywood films as well as becoming an icon in her homeland.
She was the first Indian actress to sit on the Cannes jury in 2003 and has appeared on the cover of Time magazine as the global face of Indian cinema.
Because of her popularity and international profile, she has in the past been the face of cosmetic giant L'Oreal and Longines watches.
