David, accompanied by his wife Victoria Beckham, looked pleased as he chatted to builders and inspected a run-down shop thought to be the site for his new restaurant.
"In the grand scheme of his business ventures, this is small but it's the one he's most excited about," an insider close to the Beckhams told The Mirror. "He's a great cook and has learned how to do French and Italian over the years but his favourite is British. He loves a pie."
David and Gordon's restaurant will reportedly be a pie and mash shop, but their plans may change over the next couple of months.
Back in February the businessmen started hatching a plan to set up shop, and the pair had reportedly decided on a Mediterranean-themed eatery near London's Borough Market.
"We're really excited to be opening Union Street Cafe in September," said Gordon. "It's great that David wants to come on board.
"We've been working on the new site, which is near Borough Market, for the past couple of years and the amazing large warehouse space will offer quality Mediterranean-influenced food with a daily changing menu."
The Beckhams and the Ramsays are close family friends and have been spotted enjoying days out together, often sharing their love of food.
Most recently David was seen taking his three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and their grandparents to the luxurious Tamarind restaurant in Mayfair, along with Gordon Ramsay's wife Tana and her four children, Megan, Jack, Holly and Matilda.
