Victoria Beckham has given her husband David Beckham a very appropriate birthday present — a tattoo voucher.
The former England football captain is a big fan of body art, and has had over 30 etchings done in the past.
''Not that he needs another tattoo," said Victoria. "I also bought him some Ralph Lauren T-shirts, which he loves.''
David has admitted that his favourite tattoos are those that pay tribute to his loving wife and children. One of the football legend's more notable and impressive designs is one of three cherubs that represent his sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
"It's Jesus being carried by three cherubs and obviously the cherubs are my boys," said David, explaining his choice. "My thought is that at some point my boys are going to need to look after me and that's what they're doing in the picture. It means a lot."
His youngest child and treasured two-year-old daughter Harper wasn't forgotten about either. David had his little girl's name etched in script along his left collarbone, shortly after her birth.
The former Los Angeles Galaxy player also has Brooklyn's name running across his lower back, Romeo on the base of his neck and Cruz across the middle of his back underneath an image of a guardian angel.
In honour of his wife, David has had an inscription of Victoria's name written in Hindi along his forearm, as well as a six-inch tattoo of the former Spice Girl posing as an angel on his left arm.
"Mine are all about the people in my life — my wife and sons, who I want with me always," wrote David in his autobiography. "When you see me, you see the tattoos. You see an expression of how I feel about Victoria and the boys. They're part of me."
