The Glee actress, who tragically lost her boyfriend Cory in July following a heroin and alcohol overdose, wrote alongside the breathtaking image: "Enjoying this Labor Day tucked away in the mountains, breathing in the fresh air! Have a beautiful day:) ☀"
On 29 August Lea turned 27, a birthday that no doubt would have been a difficult one. She spent the evening with friends, when it is believed that Cory had been planning something special for his girlfriend.
The talented actress took to Twitter to thank fans for their well wishes. "Thank you guys for all the birthday love today :) So beyond thankful for all of you."
Many of Lea's Glee co-stars showed support for their friend on the bittersweet birthday, which was the first special occasion that she has had to face since losing Cory, who she was reportedly planning to marry.
Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam Evans, wrote: "Happy birthday to my dear friend @msleamichele!!! Yall make sure to Go give her a bday shout out!"
Kevin McHale, who stars as Artie Abrams, said: "Happy BIRRFFDAY to the littlest bee around @msleamichele :) love u."
The cast of Glee have been working hard to support and comfort each other since the loss of their co-star, who was found six weeks ago in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada, having died of "a mixed-drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol."
They have recently been filming a special tribute episode that will be aired on 10 October in memory of Cory.
Lea will not be appearing until the final act of the episode, according to E! Online, when she will deliver a no doubt powerful performance.
The episode will start off with the news that Finn has died, and follow through with the characters remembering and honouring him.
