A close friend of the pop star said that Kylie had been left "devastated" and "heartbroken," but that no one else was involved in the break-up.
Kylie's spokesperson added that the singer and the Spanish model have remained on good terms.
Friends of Kylie say that her busy work schedule led to their split. While the Australian songstress has just started her role as a judge on The Voice UK, Andrés has been busy pursuing his dream of becoming an actor.
"When Kylie signed up for The Voice, they knew they couldn't cope with the long-distance pressures the job would put on them," an insider told The Sun.
The Spinning Around star has also spent the past year working incredibly hard on her twelfth studio album stateside, while also preparing for her ambitious world tour planned for next year.
"Kylie and Andrés haven't spent much time together because she's been holed up in a studio in Los Angeles working on her new album," said the source.
"He's also been trying to carve out an acting career for himself."
The former lovebirds were last photographed together in public in August, when they enjoyed a romantic dinner at Covent Garden restaurant J Sheekey.
Kylie has previously described Andrés as "the one", after they reached their four-year mark. The couple first met while filming an advert for her perfume range in 2008.
Kylie has previously been romantically linked to her former Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan, Lenny Kravitz and Olivier Martinez.
