John Travolta addresses Oscars name mishap: 'I've been beating myself up all day'
05 MARCH 2014John Travolta has spoken about out his now-infamous Oscars gaffe.
At the star-studded Academy Awards on Sunday, the actor mangled Idina Menzel's name in front of 43 million people, instead calling her Adele Dazeem.
And he has now addressed the incident, which took place before Idina's performance of Frozen's Let It Go.
John called Idina Menzel, Adele Dazeem at the Oscars ceremony
In a statement, John said, "I've been beating myself up all day.
"Then I thought, 'what would Idina Menzel say?' She's say, 'let it go, let it go'.
"Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night."
There are no hard feelings on Idina's end. According to sources, the star wasn't upset about her new moniker - or the uproar it has caused on the internet. "She thought it was funny," one insider said.

John set off a firestorm of tweets on Sunday when he said, "Please welcome the wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem," as Idina came on stage to perform Let It Go, winner of Best Original Song.
The mixup was quickly immortalized in a parody 'Adele Dazeem' account on Twitter, and has also inspired a John Travolta Name Generator, which 'Travoltafies' any name that's typed in.
